They Boarded Up All the Doors! Here is one example of correcting the presence of dead doors, this time in almost every gua of a business, including Wealth. A small plant nursery in Los Angeles was plagued by a series of robberies. A different door was broken by the robbers each time, and after each robbery the violated door was covered with two-by-fours and nailed shut to protect the nursery from further invasion. Within a period of two months, the only door left open and usable was the front door. I was called in when the owner noticed a drastic decline in business. Unable to afford an alarm system, and unwilling to reopen the doors that had been nailed shut, we ceremonially “sealed” the front door, and placed a small round mirror at eye level on each “dead” door. Remembering that even a side door invites possibility, we placed the mirrors with the intention that new business would be able to enter from all directions. Business began to increase immediately, and as the business prospered, the entire team of nursery workers became a strong voice in the community. They worked with others in the area to create a neighborhood watch, and robbery throughout the area became less and less frequent. |
