I had a wonderful conversation with Shelley after reviewing her floor plan, drawings, and pictures. I have to first thank her for responding so openly to my questions. There are more details to consider and we will follow up next week, but the bones of the Feng Shui work are clear. Once again, the floor plan was speaking with a powerful voice. I think we were both surprised by what unfolded.

I hope you will take the time to listen carefully. Review the plan first, write down your notes to yourself, and then sit back for about 50 minutes with a cup of tea. Shelley’s story will add a great deal to your understanding of the power of the built environment to affect the body, mind, and spirit.

After we spoke, Shelley opened the I Ching to a random page and received Hexagram 14. In one of my favorite I Ching translations, #14 is #27. The scan is a bit difficult to read, but I think it will be worth the effort. It is as if the universe responded immediately with an influx of divine inspiration. Perfect!

The first thing to notice is that this conversation is quite a bit different from a normal consultation. This is because I am attempting to show how much you can know from the floor plan itself—without knowing anything before you speak with the occupant of the space. When you ask questions from this extraordinary knowing, you will get right to the heart of the matter.

Because this plan is very complicated, I wanted everyone to see the big picture first—before getting bogged down in details that have little meaning at this beginning stage. The more detailed conversation will happen in the near future. The story will unfold. As I write this today, I am getting emails from Frida describing adjustments already made. Please accept this beginning conversation as a teaching exercise meant to display the power of combining your intellectual knowledge and your inspiration.

As you listen, you will hear Frida’s responses to my questions about confusion, betrayal, injury, and exhaustion. I think she responded to almost every question in the positive. This always surprises me! Yet, I know that it is Professor’s mastery shining through—his supreme understanding of design details, and his ability to see through all of them to ask the perfect question.
