It’s that time of year—Pantone Color Institute and major paint manufacturers forecast the new color trends for the year ahead. For the first time, Pantone has announced two shades, Rose Quartz-Pantone 13-1520 and Serenity Pantone 15-3919.
The soft, pale pink and sky blue are a dramatic shift from previous year’s saturated hues. The company states that these color combinations “bring a feeling of calm and relaxation…offer respite for our turbulent times.” Read more about Pantone’s selection at http://bit.ly/1Q21iq5.
As noted previously, Benjamin Moore revealed Simply White OC-117 as the “silent hero” for 2016; and Sherwin-Williams named another variation of white, Alabaster SW7008, as their pick at http://bit.ly/1QiNaHw.
It’s interesting to note that these current color trends point to a global yearning to create spaces that can still our techno-centered minds and lifestyles.
