HIGHLIGHTS of the call:

  • Katherine suggested that we watch a TED TALK by Jackson Katz titled Violence Against Women, It’s a Men’s Issue. It is all about using language to encourage men with power to provide leadership now. Our language with men and women can change the dialogue that set us up to blame women.
  • Katherine mentioned two books: Design as Democracy, 2017 from Island Press and Palaces for the People – how social infrastructure can help fight inequality, polarization and the decline of civic life.
  • Katherine shared some research from Research Design Connections about visual complexity, tactile experiences, and sequencing experiences and how they relate to Professor’s teachings. More to come next week.
  • She also shared some nuances about doors and taxes, painting a chimney in Wealth green, and another great cure for Piercing Heart Doors.

This Week’s REMINDERS:

  • You will find the procedure for downloading a Storyboard video from Vimeo in an FAQ. Take note of the size options, and it might be best not to choose the largest. These video files are huge.
  • A new address for Katherine when sending a package: Use two lines, one with P.O. Box 135 and one with 44 Jessie St. If you use a service that will not deliver to a PO Box, use one line and write 44 Jessie St. POB 135.
  • A template is available for a spine insert if you keep your Storyboard documents in binders. The insert has the number of the Case File, the name of the File, and the Storyboard logo. You can purchase the template for $12 from Katherine.
