THE TEMPTATIONS OF BODY, MIND AND SPEECH AND OUR KINSHIP WITH THE DIAMOND CUTTER

Our Black Sect school of Feng Shui is in perfect sync with the wisdom found in The Diamond Cutter written by Geshe Michael Roach. Since 2002, I have been chronicling the kinship of our disciplines, both rooted in the heart of the Tibetan culture. As Feng Shui practitioners, we are looking for clues that indicate conflict and dysfunction in the details of a design. Yet, His Holiness Grandmaster Professor Lin Yun is asking us to look further. He is asking us to follow the chi of the individual as well. The clues are written in a person’s actions and speech. Consider the following statements:

“The people around me are consistently inconsistent.”

“I never get my share of the pie.”

“The world’s values and integrity are not what they used to be.”

“People around me are constantly arguing.”

“No one takes me seriously.”

“I find myself stealing little things from the office.”

We can help by making changes in the environment, but our job is not over. If we are willing, we can learn to incorporate the “antidotes” for troublesome thinking and behavior as outlined in the Tibetan teachings of The Diamond Cutter. How well we do this will depend upon our willingness to learn new precepts, our courage to speak the truth as we know it, and the work to cultivate the depth of spirit that will allow another to listen. And, we will have followed Professor’s admonition to be “complete.”

I set forth the precepts as I have grown to know them, and present a classic Feng Shui/Diamond Cutter moment. It will be forever a favorite, and a true testament to the wisdom and connection between Black Sect Feng Shui and the genius of Michael Roach and Tibetan Buddhism.
