I have had to think deeply about sincerity since his passing and in this time of extraordinary change. We are all participants as the changes move around and through us. How do I understand sincerity now?
As I attend to my daily study of the I Ching, I have come to know this.
I must still my heart and mind. I must sincerely lean into my heartfelt ethical intentions so that I can respond and adapt to immense change with consistency, clarity, and inspired action – helping in my own small way to facilitate a transition between the past and the future, building a bridge between the old and the new.
We stand together on this bridge that moves us toward peace and justice, wondering, praying, and intending benefit for all. The task is not yet complete, the future has yet to unfold, and I know sincerity anew.
Sincerity is simply the natural desire to passionately explore what is yet unseen.
