While reading Places of the Heart I was thrilled to see that someone else loved the beautiful curves of a Mazda Miata – a car I owned for over 20 years. It seems that our responses to the geometry of a sports car are deeply seated in our nervous system – specifically the nerve cells in areas of our visual cortex involved in object recognition. “Put simply, we have many more cortical cells devoted to the analysis of the nuances of a curved surface than of a sharply angled one.”

Now take a look at the proposed new building on the campus of Apple. I look forward to interviewing the occupants of this new “spaceship.”
