Katherine’s Ponderings . . . What have we learned?

  1. We can draw from other disciplines when appropriate. It will be your level of skill that will determine the effectiveness of the integration. Here are some words of wisdom from Professor:

“Act on those things of which you are capable. Do not get involved with things outside your realm. Do what you are supposed to do. Otherwise, you risk insult.”

“To help you be discerning in this regard, hold the Five Thunders Mantra (in your heart) everywhere you go.”

  1. A sudden change in the physical environment can dramatically change how people interact—for better or worse. Share what you know when the opportunity arrives. Refine your understanding, your language, and your teaching skills. You may save a company, a family, even a life.
  1. Remember Professor’s words:

“When things begin poorly, they are likely to end poorly. It is difficult to change the chi.”

Take note of the moments that tell you how something began. Look to the motivation of the parties involved and the chi imbalances that play leading roles. Know that the situation requires a powerful adjustment to change the momentum.
