Here is another project which I absolutely adore. I’ve been following MAD architects in China for a while as they are concerned with building projects that blend and imitate the environments with their buildings.
The fluidity of water, built on a wetlands in Northern China, surrounded by ice in winter, and built to look like an octopus to my view, or a shell as the architects mention, would indicate an overabundance of the water element but…. the building is built of metal on the exterior with gorgeous fluid wood and white walls on the interior and shiny floor surfaces and the piece de resistance is the main seating area upholstered in red. They have added gorgeous windows & openings for luminosity and exterior spaces for events which allow the chi to flow throughout – they have covered most of their bases. Obviously, a bit of greenery – biophilia – would enhance the space.
