Additional Questions Answered by Kevin:

Q: Do you calculate a persons 9 Star Ki depending on gender or the same for both male and female?
A: My initial assessment is gender neutral, as I don’t want to make any assumptions on how they identify or present themselves along the gender spectrum. However, if I have an opportunity to conduct an individual assessment with the client, I will take their gender identity into consideration and form my recommendations accordingly. For instance, a cis-gender female Protector experiences the world in a much different way than a cis-gender male Protector. While I agree that gender can play a strong role in how the elements manifest, I wait until I actually meet the person before making those conclusions.

Q: What is your own personal spiritual practice?
A: I meditate daily, usually in the evenings do walking meditation once/day.

Q: How do your deal with the envelopes?
A: As I develop a relationship with my primary contact/representative with the client, I have them give me a set of red envelopes for the entire gig.

Q: Do you coach individuals or mainly groups?
A: I provide consultations to individuals, families and work settings.

Q: Dear Kevin, Thank you so much for joining us this morning and for sharing your expertise. I would love to hear more about the five element assessment process you utilize in your work. My impression thus far is that you may focus on questionnaires, as well as the behavioral and speech patterns of the individuals being assessed. In cases where the individual shows aspects of several elements simultaneously and none of these elements seem to predominate, can you please share with us which back up methods you prefer and why? For instance, do you prefer facial analysis, feng shui analysis, astrological analysis, or lifestyle analysis, etc? Secondly, I am wondering which method Professor Lin favored in addition to feng shui analysis. Thank you very much for considering these questions. Blessings to you, Angie.
A: I think it is fine of people exhibit several elements at once with any single element predominating. If further clarity is required, I often ask people directly what element best describes where they are/how they are feeling in the moment. If they know their 9 Star elements, I ask them if they are operating from their primary or secondary element. I also ask them to describe colors, emotions or parts of their body that are more pronounced for them. In my analyses, I want to be mindful that the manifestation of these elements are transitional. That is, they will change with time and circumstance. My goal is to work with my clients so they have the tools to recognize which elements they need to manifest to achieve a sense of balance and harmony (however temporary that balance may be).
