It’s hard to believe that orange has never ranked high on people’s favorite color list. Actually, it sits near the bottom. So, I find it interesting that this eye-catching color continues to pop up in the latest color palettes and design trends. My take is that it hasn’t left the scene; it’s just turned into a “different” color! And, here at the Storyboard, we are loving the modern hue.

I went searching for orange samples when a client decided to paint one wall of her new high-end retail establishment this exciting hue. The wall is located in the Partnership area, so I thought an orange with a pink undertone would support her goal of creating positive relationships with clients.

Just the right color for this establishment will provide the comforting qualities of Earth. Clientele will perceive the owners and employees as caring, reliable, honest, fair, and dependable. Complaints will be resolved with ease, and trust will build.

I found many orange varieties with pink undertones in the Benjamin Moore Paint Color Preview fan deck. Favorite picks are Tangerine Dream 2012-30 and

Jeweled Peach 2013-30. They are as luscious as their names suggest!

If you are curious about orange and want to practice your eye at seeing the hue’s undertones, go by a Benjamin Moore Paint store and take a look at the Preview fan deck. Oranges with pink undertones range from 2010-70 through 2014-10; yellow undertones begin at 2015-70 and end around 2018-10.

Enjoy! Let us know what you discover!
