ECHOES—PROFESSOR’S SIDE DOOR WISDOM
During a workshop, Professor took a look at the office of the owner of the building in which the class took place. The building houses a technical institute, a school for young, hip, and innovative techies.
Here are a few questions that he was asked:
- The owner’s desk faces the main door of his office and the main door of the building. However, since the parking lot is in back of the building, 99% of the traffic comes in the back door of the building (entering behind the owner). Professor suggested an adjustment. What will you suggest?
- There was an impala head on the wall in Knowledge. What advice would you offer?
- The owner’s desk was placed in front of a large window with the owner’s back to the window. Professor made a suggestion. What is your suggestion?
Professor’s answers are timeless jewels. His voice remains loud and clear, nuanced and precise, and his spirit and wisdom continue to guide us.
The emphasis in this Case File is learning to listen carefully—to step back into moments in time—moments that highlight Professor’s understanding and compassion in the face of doubt, confusion, fear, and tragedy. We have to ask ourselves if we could have been present with the same immediacy and insight.
