The Voices of Our Doors and Windows

All doors and windows represent a voice. Doors represent the voice of adults; windows represent the voice of children. As you spend this time together at home, take note of the overall number, placement, and size of the windows and doors.

If you encounter a power struggle between parents and children, check the relationship between the doors and windows. Your recognition of this dynamic connection can bring some peace of mind for everyone.

(As you read the information below, take into consideration the size of the windows and doors. One very large window can give the children a very strong voices. A very large door can give the adults a very strong voice.)

Too many doors in relationship to the windows, and the voice of the adult may become too powerful, diminishing or silencing the voice of the child.

Hang a crystal in the windows of the children’s rooms to enhance their voices.

Too few doors in relationship to the windows, and the children may rule the house creating chaos.

Hand a bell on the inside of the parent’s bedroom door to enhance their parental voice.

A few bits of additional information:

Panes can be installed in a large window to soften the voice of a child who may be acting out at this time. The child may become calm, finding the space and motivation to listen.

To soften the demeanor of a contentious child, use the colors apple green, green, light blue, or dark green.

A child who seems unusually out of sorts may benefit from the colors black, dark green, or navy-blue in the bedroom.
